The course is designed to impart theoretical knowledge of communicable and non-communicable lung diseases. Postgraduate students learn several sub-specialities of Respiratory Medicine such as Interventional Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Airway Diseases, and Parenchymal Lung Diseases. They receive training in Pulmonary Function Testing, Bronchoscopy, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and Direct Observed Therapy for Tuberculosis.

The candidates should have completed MBBS or done their Postgraduate Diploma from any recognized medical college or university and passed the qualifying examination with 55% or above aggregate marks.
