Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Pharmacology is a non-clinical postgraduate program offered to medical students for 3 years. They learn the basic principles of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. As a part of the curriculum, they are mandated to carry out basic and clinical research. The students acquire a deeper knowledge of Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics of drugs. During their clinical rotation, they are expected to interact with patients and explain their need for taking prescription drugs and their effects, if any. Subjects taught include Basic & Molecular Pharmacology, Drug Receptors & Pharmacodynamics, Biotransformation, Clinical Pharmacology, etc.

The candidates should have completed MBBS or done their Postgraduate Diploma from any recognized medical college or university and passed the qualifying examination with 55% or above aggregate marks. They should have appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam Postgraduate (NEET PG) and obtained the minimum cut-off percentile to specialize in Pharmacology.
