Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (Hons.) Optometry (OPT) is a 3-year full-time undergraduate course and a 1-year internship at Faculty of Life and Allied Health Sciences, M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences. The course gives the students an advance study of the clinical skills that are required to professionally measure eyesight, detect eye disease and prescribe lenses. The students are given skills and knowledge about various professional methods optometric counselling, diagnosis of visual problems, colour blindness, fitting of spectacles and many more. The students after completing the course can work as an optometrist in eye clinics, optician showrooms, eye hospital and so on.

Candidates should pass 12th Standard with HSC, PUC, or A-Level or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and should have passed English as one of the subjects. The Candidate should have completed 17 years of age on 31 December of the year of admission.
