Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is a 5.5-year undergraduate programme from JSS Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru. The course aims at providing basic education in Ayurveda leading to the degree of B.A.M.S. It aims at preparing graduates of profound scholarship in the science of Ayurveda having basic and fundamental knowledge in different subjects of Ayurveda backed up by extensive practical training.

Candidates should pass 12th Standard with HSC, PUC, or A-Level or an equivalent examination should have obtained 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology(taken together) and should have passed English as one of the subjects. Candidates should have completed 17 years of age on 31 December of the year of admission. Students are interviewed to determine their aptitude for taking up a degree and are selected on the basis of their performance in the interview.
