Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is one of India's premier research institutes that provides residential facilities for both boys and girls. The IISc, Bangalore, campus houses more than 3,000 students. The hostel-IISc, Bangalore, is nested in lush green surroundings along with open courtyards.
The campus has limited accommodation facilities for married candidates at the campus. There are single and double room apartments for married candidates to stay with their families. Guest rooms are also available for visiting parents of the students. The hostel-IISc, Bangalore, complex has small utility shops like a bakery, laundry, cycle repair, saloons, and pharmacy.
4 different mess facilities are available for the students. (2 vegetarian messes and 2 non-vegetarian messes) The hostel life at IISc, Bangalore, is one of the most desirable among the student community that provides the students with the best research and learning atmosphere.
1. Candidates are required to apply for IISc hostel accommodation by filling the online application form.
2. After submitting the form with the necessary information, the candidates have to submit the form by making the required payments, either by challan payment or through an online gateway.
3. Candidates must remember the hostel application number or academic application number for making the required fee payments for the accommodation.
4. The acceptance of the IISc hostel accommodation application form will be indicated online after receiving the bank's payment transaction acknowledgement.

IISc, Bangalore, admission process begins with the online application process. Candidates are required to fill the online application form for the courses offered. IISc, Bangalore, offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral Programs for students determined to pursue education and a career in the field of Science.
1. Candidates must clear the IISc, Bangalore, Cutoff for the programs offered by the institute.
2. The registration process for IISc admission usually opens at the beginning of the year.
3. Candidates appearing for M.Tech, M.Des, or MMS must have completed a bachelor's degree in B.Tech, B.Des, B.Arch, or other equivalent programs with the required IISc, Bangalore, cutoff marks.
4. The candidates who have applied for PG programs must have valid GATE, JEST, CEED, CAT, or GMAT scores.
5. For IISc, Bangalore, Ph.D. admission, the candidates must appear for JAM or JEST, and they must have passed M.Sc or equivalent program in the relevant field.
6. IISc provides reservations for the candidates falling under the reserved category, a person with a disability (PWD), and Kashmiri Migrants.
IISc awards scholarships and fellowships to eligible candidates with excellent academic performance.
1. Every student, except those admitted to the MMS program, are eligible for scholarships or fellowships.
2. Students need to send their joining reports to the respective agencies within 15 days for activating their scholarships.
3. IISc provides MHRD scholarships for the selected candidates who have qualified GATE, JEST, JAM and ME/ M.Tech/ M.Sc (Engineering).
4. The deserving candidates are also eligible for scholarships from General Electric (GE), Infosys, IBM, HP, Philips, TATA, and other renowned companies.
5. Scholarship duration for IISc, Bangalore, M.Tech (Residential) candidates is 2 years, and for Ph.D courses, it's 5 years.
6. Candidates receiving salary or sponsors are not eligible for any scholarships.

IISc placements are done by the Office of Career Counseling and Placement (OCCaP). OCCaP is the supreme agency for coordinating every placement related activity at IISc.
1. OCCaP serves as the interface between the graduating candidates and companies during the placement process.
2. The registration for placement seeking candidates will open in January or August on the official online portal maintained by OCCaP.
3. Only full-time students of the institute are eligible to register for IISc placements.
4. Candidates seeking employment after the completion of the graduate program at the institute can register for campus placements.
5. All the Ph.D and M.Tech (Research) candidates seeking placement opportunities are required to register by submitting a certificate that indicates they will present their thesis before the current academic year.
6. The applying candidates having 4 or more course backlogs are advised not to register for the placements.
7. Students are not allowed to re-register in case they were not placed in earlier years.
8. The candidates who are employed as Research Assistants and part-time students are not eligible for IISc placement registration.
Note: The OCCaP Committee has the supreme right to change any rules and take decisions about the university's placements.
1. The IISc placement procedure begins in October every year and goes on till May.
2. To recruit the students during IISc, Bangalore, placements, the companies must register themselves on the OCCaP website.
3. OCCaP is responsible for scheduling the recruiters to visit for the pre-placement talks where the job description is available to eligible students.
4. The recruiters are required to fill a job description form that contains the details of the roles offered. They must also provide compensation breakup details of the positions.
5. OCCaP is responsible for scheduling visits of companies to conduct pre-placement talks, tests, and personal interviews at the time of IISc, Bangalore, recruitments every year.
6. Recruiters can shortlist the students and maintain a waitlist of students who can be interviewed in case of an emergency.
