Master of Engineering (M.E)/ Master of Technology (M.Tech):

Candidates applying to M.Tech at Bangalore University must have completed their BE/ B.Tech degree with minimum aggregate marks along with clearing the cut off in the required national entrance examinations.

Education:

Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed):

Aspirants must have passed B.P.Ed degree from a recognized university. They must have secured at least 50% in their preceding curriculum. Also, Bangalore University applying candidates must have participated in recognized inter-university, inter-state, international sports events. All the Bangalore University applying candidates have to submit a medical fitness certificate issued by a Medical Officer.

Master of Education (M.Ed):

Candidates applying to M.Ed at Bangalore University are required to secure a minimum of 50% (5% relaxation for reserved candidates) marks in their graduation, done from a recognized university. The applicants must have completed B.Ed from a UGC-approved institute. Candidates pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Education/ Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Education/ Master of Science (M.Sc) in Education can also apply for the M.Ed program.

Science:

Master of Science (M.Sc):

Candidates must have obtained a B.Sc degree in their preferred discipline from a recognised university. They must have secured at least 50% in their graduation.

Master of Vocation (M.Voc):

Candidates applying to M.Voc at Bangalore University must have completed their Bachelors of Vocation (B.Voc) course or an undergraduate degree program with a minimum aggregate of 50% from a recognized university.

Master of Social Work (MSW):

Candidates applying to MSW at Bangalore University must hold a BSW degree from a recognized institute with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Students from Humanities/ Social Science/ Science/ Management and other backgrounds are also eligible for the MSW.

Arts:

Master of Arts (MA):

To pursue this degree at Bangalore University, candidates must have completed their graduation in any relevant stream from a recognized institute. Also, they must have scored a minimum of 50% or its equivalent in their graduation. Students in their final year can also apply for this program at Bangalore University.

Master of Visual Arts (MVA):

Applicants must have obtained not less than 50% in their qualifying examinations. The examination must be recognized by a university.

Master of Performing Arts (MPA):

Candidates applying to MVA at Bangalore University must hold a bachelor or diploma degree from a recognized university. They must score a minimum of 50% in their qualifying examination. Candidates with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in theatre or a reputed dance institute can also apply.

Computer Application:

Master of Computer Application (MCA) in Computer Science and Applications:

Candidates applying to MCA at Bangalore University must obtain a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Also, they must score a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects, including languages. The applicants must have studied Mathematics/ Business Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Computer Programming as one of the optional/ elective subjects.

Master of Commerce (M.Com):

Applicants must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in B.Com, B.Com (Hons) or an equivalent program from a recognized university.

Master of Business Administration (MBA):

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Also, they should score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in all subjects, including languages.

Master of Finance and Accounting (MFA):

Candidates must have completed an undergraduate degree in the field of commerce, banking, or finance from any recognized board or university. They must have secured 45% to 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Hospitality:

Master of Tourism Administration (MTA):

The Bangalore University’s MTA applying candidate should have completed their bachelor’s from a recognized institute with at least 50% (45% for reserved category) aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM):

Applicants must have completed either BHM or BTTM and must have scored minimum aggregate marks of 50% and above. Candidates who have studied B.Sc. Hospitality & Administration and BA Tourism can also apply for this course at Bangalore University.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D):

Bangalore University’s Ph.D aspirants must hold a PG degree from a recognized university. They must have scored a minimum aggregate mark of 55% (5% relaxation for the reserved category) or an equivalent grade in the qualifying examination. Candidates who have completed M.Phil (Regular) course work with at least 55% (5% relaxation for the reserved candidates) aggregate score or equivalent grade are also eligible to pursue a Ph.D Degree.

Bangalore University Scholarships:

Bangalore University scholarships are provided for the meritorious and deserving candidates as directed by the Government of Karnataka and University Grants Commission (UGC) norms.

The Bangalore University Scholarships provided depends on multiple factors mentioned below:

The scholarship is available to ST/ SC students from Karnataka whose parent’s annual income is less than or equal to Rs. 2,50,000. They can claim the scholarship from the Social Welfare Department.

Minority Indian candidates i.e. Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Anglo-Indians, Jain, etc are provided with Bangalore University scholarships. The candidate’s parents, whose annual income is less than Rs. 44,500 are eligible to apply for the encouragement fund provided by the Minorities Welfare Department (MWD).

The GOI Merit Scholarships are given for the top-ranking students as administered by the Director of Collegiate Education.

Special Scholarships are offered for the children of Government Employees/ University Employees who die in harness. They are administered by the Director of Collegiate Education or the University.

The scholarship is provided to Single Girl Child for non-professional post-graduate courses administered by UGC.

The scholarship was implemented during the academic year 2013-14 for meritorious students (1st to 5th Ranks) who fall under the Below Poverty Line (BPL).
