The Bangalore University Admission procedure is as follows:
Located in the IT capital of India, Bangalore University (BU) was established in 1964 as an offshoot of the University of Mysore. BU is formed by the city’s 2 premier institutions, Central College (CC) and University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE).
Bangalore University offers multiple Undergraduate, Integrated, Postgraduate, Diploma, PG Diploma, Certificate, and Doctorate courses for eligible candidates. The Law College was established in 1948 and the College of Physical Education in 1959.
In 1973, Bangalore University moved into a new campus named Jnana Bharathi (JB), which is located on a sprawling 1100 acres of land. Currently, the JB Campus houses several offices, PG departments, centres of higher learning, NSS Bhavan, outdoor stadium, and other support services.
Bangalore University has completed 57 years of its existence and is regarded as one of the largest universities in Asia. Though BU was intended to be a federal university, it has currently emerged as an affiliating university, with over 298 colleges affiliated to it.

Bangalore University provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The university provides accommodation, dining, drinking water, a reading room, a TV room/ hall, daily newspapers and many more facilities.

Over 14,000 patients visit the Bangalore University Health Centre every year. The University Health Centres are functioning mainly at the Jnana Bharathi and Central College Campuses. Bangalore University’s Health Centre ensures to provide the basic medical needs of the staff and students of the university.
BU health centres are managed by two senior physicians along with various Supporting Staffs and Technicians. Bangalore University’s Health Centre also accommodates certified and experienced nursing staff capable of managing patients during emergencies. It has an Outpatient Ward, Laboratory, X-Ray Lab, etc. The University Health Centre also has a bed for temporary monitoring of BP and other emergencies. It also has made provision for 2 specialist doctors to visit twice a week.
The Library at Bangalore University came into existence in 1966 by inheriting a document collection of about 58,000 books along with several bound volumes of periodicals held by the Central College Library. The Bangalore University’s library was later shifted to Jnana Bharathi Campus in 1975.

The applicants of BE at Bangalore University should have passed 12th Standard or pre-university college with English as a mandatory subject. Apart from that, candidates need to have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the subjects among Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Electronics, Information Science, and Computer Science. Bangalore University scholarships are provided for the meritorious and deserving candidates as directed by the Government of Karnataka and University Grants Commission (UGC) norms.
The Bangalore University Scholarships provided depends on multiple factors mentioned below:
The scholarship is available to ST/ SC students from Karnataka whose parent’s annual income is less than or equal to Rs. 2,50,000. They can claim the scholarship from the Social Welfare Department.
Minority Indian candidates i.e. Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Anglo-Indians, Jain, etc are provided with Bangalore University scholarships. The candidate’s parents, whose annual income is less than Rs. 44,500 are eligible to apply for the encouragement fund provided by the Minorities Welfare Department (MWD).
The GOI Merit Scholarships are given for the top-ranking students as administered by the Director of Collegiate Education.
Special Scholarships are offered for the children of Government Employees/ University Employees who die in harness. They are administered by the Director of Collegiate Education or the University.
The scholarship is provided to Single Girl Child for non-professional post-graduate courses administered by UGC.
The scholarship was implemented during the academic year 2013-14 for meritorious students (1st to 5th Ranks) who fall under the Below Poverty Line (BPL).
Bangalore University has established a Centralized Placement Cell that is located at the Canara Bank School of Management Studies, Central College. The Bangalore University Placement centre will cater to the students during the pre-placement process and placement program conducted for PG candidates of the University. The university ensures to train the candidates with the required skills for the Bangalore University Placements.
